I'm pretty sure it is gravel. It had been raining a lot when I was there, and we had no trouble getting in or out.
Go early and park in the lot!!

It's a gravel lot, but make sure 2 get there early or you'll be parked further away

Main Parking lot is gravel. Overflow is not. Arrive a bit early to get a spot in main lot.
Definitely gets muddy. It rained the entire time we were in that area but the parking attendants made sure SUVs or other cars with 4 wheel drive capabilities were parked in the muddier areas and sedans and other regular cars were in less muddy spots.
