Does anyone have a free dog chain or maybe want a couple of bucks for one? I need one bad. Gotta teach this puppy the back porch isn't his toilet. Would be greatly appreciated.

Kaylyn is wrong. You CAN tether your dog outside as long as it has access to food, water( dog can't knock over), shelter, enough room to move. Check Asheville Craigslist for tethers, etc.

Probably not the best place to ask this question. In Buncombe county you cannot chain a dog out. They have to be fenced I believe because if they were attacked they would have no chance of getting away if they were chained. You might look up the dog ordinances for your area to make sure. You may be better off with a baby gate or other way to keep pup off porch while potty training. Also walking the pup will help too.
