I have a water olor painting that is very old. Given to me over 30 years ago. It was old when I received it and nicely framed. Is there someone in greenville that could give me more info or do an appraisel?

I would go to the Art Museum downtown because I know they would be able to help.

We are happy to answer questions about works in the GCMA collections, but because of the number of inquiries we receive, we aren't able to provide general information about art or artists not in our collection. The Greenville County Museum of Art may not perform appraisals. To obtain an estimate on an artwork, we recommend you contact a reputable dealer or appraiser. There are several auction houses in our area that would be able to advise you. Best of luck!

www.valuemystuff.com does online art appraisals. Look for markings on the painting that may identify the artist. Be sure to use a good camera and good lighting but no flash when imaging the work. Hope this helps.
