We are an open admission shelter and take all Charleston County animals that come to us, no matter their condition. Our staff works very hard to nurse each animal back to health and our supporters are amazing adopters fosters and caretakers that make everything poossible. The average cost to save one animal at Charleston Animal Society (2016) was $369.
If they were mostly pits you can make your own conclusions there.. sadly probably how they were found or brought in. My baby had jusy had puppys and was a bit skinny when we rescued her.
I got my dog there looked at all they seemed well cared for. Any wounds were from previous owners or being abandoned. I will always be thankful i got mine there its a no kill shelter!
