Hi Al, So sorry to hear your cat is missing. Microchipping is always the best way to protect pets who may get lost. You can call the 800 number associated with your chip and they can give you information on if your cat has been found by a local shelter or vet office with a chip reader. Typically, once scanned, an organization like ours will reach out with an email or phone call. Here are other steps to take: 1. Blanket your neighborhood with flyers that have a photo of your missing pet and let your neighbors know your cat is missing. 2. Post information on facebook! If you don't have Facebook, have a friend do it for you. 3. Look for facebook pages that specialize in lost pets and make a posting on those pages. 4. Go to your local shelter in person and see if your lost pet is there.
Do they have a chip , how long have they missing for . Have you tried the lost animals page for the shelter in your area.
The chip is only checked to confirm ownership is they are lost and found. Unfortunately it has no tracking capability. I wish. My cat is missing too.
They do implant ID chips. I don't remember the cost.
Do they have gps collars?
