Hi Sandy. So, there will be some variables when you talk about changing coolant. Shops can do a simple drain and refill or you can have it flushed. The flush is better, but will cost more. Another factor is the coolant that is used to fill the system. There are universal coolants and there are manufacturer specific coolants. For me, in my opinion, the latter is better/preferred. Also, you should not mix antifreeze types. Beyond that, you need to call around. At least now, you are armed with some good basic knowledge so you can make an informed decision.
