Why does Walmart charge $10.00 for background a check to sell a firearm? I've never seen this before. I also witnessed this on a Sunday. A Sunday check usually takes about three minutes to clear with a phonecall. Just seemed all little fraudulent.

New procedures went in place to buy a firearm. Walmart like all other stores has to send a form with all your information to the Tennessee Bureau Of Ivestigation. Sometimes it take minutes sometimes up to an hour for the TBI to respond. Rural king also charges 10 dollars. It's actually pretty common.

"Real" background checks take time. And it does cost $$. My Husband used to have to get background checks for different jobs on construction jobs and different sites. Some jobs he had to pay for the background checks, some he didn't. It is been about 10 years since his last check and it was $8 then.
