BMW's do have to be programmed after a battery install / replacement. I paid $350 at Hendrick BMW in Charlotte for my 2005 BMW 525i just last summer. I happened to be on vacation near Charlotte and took my car in. They had it done in a matter of a couple of hours.
Century BMW actually price matches any ASE certified shop prices with comparable parts installed! BMW’s will need to be programmed after installing a battery. Otherwise you will have issues with the car.
