DO NOT GO TO THIS LOWES IF YOU ARE BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN. Just moved here and needed tools for my apartment. My parents and I went to this lowes because it’s closest. We went to self checkout mind you there were about five other people at the self checkouts kiosks around us and two needed help. We were the only black individuals in line/at the kiosks. We needed assistance with applying the military discount and when I tell you we literally stood there for about five minutes waiting for help. Keep this in mind, the lady DIANE with pinkish streaks in her hair that works there assisted the person at the kiosk next to us so you’d think she’d help us after that person right? WRONG. She looked at us waiting there with our kiosk light blinking red for help and didn’t even bother to assist us. After Diane was done with the person next to us she went and helped a different customer on the other side of the kiosks that got in line AFTER us. When Diane was done she STILL DID NOT HELP US. Me and my parents just looked at each other like hmmm that’s strange. We still needed help then an older white male that was in line way after us walked up to one of the kiosks and told Diane he needed help with military discount before he even started scanning his things and DIANE PASSED US AND WALKED RIGHT UP TO HIM AND SAID SURE I’LL HELP YOU WITH THAT RIGHT NOW. My parents and I all looked at each other in disbelief!!! The other associate with bleach blonde hair and glasses (I didn’t get her name unfortunately but she was so kind) came over and finally helped us since Diane wouldn’t. DIANE completely disregarded us and we believe that it was racially motivated. It was as if we were invisible to her. I know racism when I see it. I will never shop at this lowes ever again.
