Yes, lots of people work there, but it is considerate not to do so at lunchtime or when there are people waiting for tables
I love small oven, and think it's perhaps the best bakery I've ever been to. That being said, I'd never go there to sit and do work... I'd head down the street to Shelburne coffee shop to do that. Small Oven is just too small and too busy for me to feel comfortable setting up camp at a table.

Best place to eat. If you decide to do work, be conscious if people are waiting for tables. There are less tables than demand for them at many times. So, if you're willing to forego your table and head to Shelburne falls coffee if there's a wait, then sure.
