I bought 6 bottles of Hint brand water...contains no sugar, no fruit juice, is not a fruit drink, sports drink or soda...just purified water with non-GMO plant flavor..When did water become a taxable commodity?

Oh..did not realize that the fresh fruit, vegetables meats and poultry that I buy in a store, along with bottled water should have tax because I purchased them in a store..I believe there is a fallacy in your explanation...and FYI. I cook my meals..do not use processed foods, which are rightfully taxed. Thanks a lot for the information.I just will not go to CVS's for anything.

Meredith anything sold in a store in the USA must pay state sales tax depending on the state some states like Tennessee & New Hampshire don't even bottled plain water : Sometimes it's better you make things home rather than pay for a coffee or water you could have easily made at home and saved or pay the mandatory taxes to consume whatever you want !

Sorry I am in IT department and I won't know that. Store staff should be able to answer that or you can write a complaint at the email on the website.
