Jordan, A "hold" may have been placed on your driver's license due to unpaid fines. You may want to check your driving record. You can do that here: https://www.ri.gov/DMV/statuscheck/ If you cannot find anything in your record, call the R.I. Traffic Tribunal at (401) 275-2700 to talk to a court clerk. You can also have a DMV administrator research your record, by filling out this form. http://www.dmv.ri.gov/feedback/ Include any relevant information, including a Rhode Island address, if you lived here previously, as well as a driver's license number. It will take at least three days for a response through the Feedback section.

Ask your insurance company to do it for you or you will have to call the DMV directly
