I was gifted my mothers car after her death. The title to the car was not among her belongings. I live in another state. What do I do to get another title? Is there anything else I need to do?

If the car is older than a 2001 model year, you do not need the title, just the bill of sale. Duplicate titles are processed at the DMV headquarters in Cranston only. You must complete the Application for Title (TR-2/TR-9) form. Found here: http://www.dmv.ri.gov/documents/forms/title/TR-2_TR-9.pdf The cost is $52.50
