a person is selling me a car that he just paid off the lease to buy... the title is in the lease company's name, and they re-assigned to him.... can this person sell the car to me and just re-assign the original lease to me?

Yes. You will need: A certificate of origin or original title assigned to the leasing company. A Power of Attorney from the leasing company for the person signing the Application for Registration. No cause is re assigned to him once more by the company ...so i think not ...but to make it moresure you can call to thelease company yourself
