Purchased a used vehicle in Oct 2020 and the dealer registered my vehicle for me. Upon putting the plates on i noticed the registration is up for renewal April 2021. I thought new registrations were good for 2 years?

New registration or new person from different state doing so only get one year, that them saying you are on probation

The registration expiration dates are set in rotation, keyed to the first letter of your last name. The initial registration fee is prorated based on where your name falls in the rotation, D is in April. When you renew, it will be for two years and the fee will be higher.
