Every rescue and shelter has their own adoption requirements. There will be dogs at the spca which you will not be able to adopt with a small child in the house too.
I went to the York county spca and found the best dog. It took a few trips, but was well worth it. We love our dog and York county spca was very helpful.
Sorry no answer. I don't understand either
Yeah I understand why shelters are so particular... they want a permanent home for the furrbabies. Many babies get brought back or get mistreated. But at the same time, they make it almost impossible to rescue. Some shelters want fenced in yards, previous vet records, no children, you must live within so many miles to the shelter or can't be out of state, etc. I know I'm a great pet mom but I live in an apartment. I don't have a fenced in yard and heaven forbid if I missed a vet appointment or something in the past. This forces people to go to pet stores or breeders. It's too bad because there are great animal lovers out there that will take excellent care of these babies.
