I was there last Saturday and I have stopped by this store for years. I believe they are pricing items too high. I thought the Salvation Army was for those less fortunate. I don't consider myself poor; however, I will not pay $9.99 for a dinner plate. I can buy the same plates new for $13. This doesn't make sense to me. It wasn't just one set of dishes. This was the standard plate price. Salad plates were $4.99 each. Way too high for Salvation Army. A FOR profit organization and putting high prices on items. They keep clothing down but furniture and dishes are too high. I will stick with Goodwill.
Prices are OUT OF CONTROL.
I agree the prices seemed high the last time I was in there.
Obviously the Salvation Army Headquarters are asleep when it comes to their Manassas store. I have read complaint after complaint about the management there. I even personally wrote in about the awful, negative experience I had with the store manager (Gigi?) to no avail. Perhaps S.A. just wants our donations & purchases & not our satisfaction. I used to both donate & shop there; I haven't done either in a long time.
Prices are way to high.I found a few things and went to pay for my items and the lady wouldn't sell 2 of the items I had.it was clothing items it had the tag stapled to the clothes she said it was the wrong price on the clothes and straight up did not sell them to me. there are signs that say if the tag is missing they refuse to sell the item but it does not say anywhere that they can refuse to sell items because they feel as if the price should be different then who previously priced it.So sick of these thrift stores that get everything on a donation bases and price the items so high like they payed for them.they are selling used donated clothing for $4.99 that came from walmart for $5 brand new.Very over priced,no returns on items the list goes on.Good will is a little better with prices and at least they do returns too.
Couple years ago they changed mangers, ALL prices for Everything Immediately went up. I worked there before that change. I occasionally shopped there. I Always donated there because they have a record of using funds to actually help - best record of them all, why I would even work there & donate. They are getting pickier about what donated goods they take. I don't give them trash. I donate things I don't feel like selling. I give my junk stuff to Goodwill - because they have a problem with using $ to help the people they claim to help, other than those internally usually higher up within the organization. Salvation Army Manassas has become a rip off. Look at the head store manager.
