The MRI at American Imaging is considered an open MRI due to the larger diameter and shorter bore than other MRI machines. Also the techs there are very sensitive to clautrophobic patients and will accomodate in any way they can to get you the best images at your comfort level.
Call and ask. They are the best imaging place in Port Charlotte. If they don't, Partner's Imaging in Sarasota has hugh quality equipment, even a 3 Tesla MRI.
