You may be waiting for the power company to install the special meter you need. Doesn't work till that happens. Your solar company handles this and it usually takes a week or so after the panels go up till the meters get switched out. Call your installer to get an update.

It should be fine to turn it on. I might call the solar company and check. The salesman usually has experience with this. Interested to see how the system works
