I don't recall which YMCA it was in North Carolina, we learned swimming and had some gymnastics, it was wonderful! I was just five years old, we were a military family. Was 1974-75. The equipment and gymnasium were tremendous. Good coaching.

I believe you are talking about the (now) Sandhills YMCA on Ft. Bragg Road in Fayetteville.

Perhaps it is. Was that the only one in the area in those years! I liked the balance beam. My father's colleague in New Jersey some years later bought his daughter a low to the ground one I was allowed to use. Thank you for the information.
