When you purchased the extended warranty, the sales person in the appliance Department should have gave you a copy of your extended warranty with the phone number attached, if not, go to the help desk at the home depot and have them pull up your sales order receipt of the refrigerator that you purchased. Even without your extended warranty your warranty should still be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
Maybe your extended warranty is with Home Depot and not the manufacturer. I would call Home Depot and ask for the manager of that Department (appliances?) to explain your warranty. Good luck.
