It depends on the type of vaccine... injectable would be protected two weeks after the vaccine. Intranasal and oral tend to be faster. Anywhere from a few days to a week post vaccine potentially protected. To be as safe as possible we still say two weeks if they want to be sure of protection. Has your pet ever had the vaccine before? Because it also depends on the history of having the vaccine. It is recommended when exposing your pet to high risk areas, they should be given the vaccine every 6 months rather than yearly.
My dogs have never had any issues after shots, I would think the next day would be OK. Also, you can call the vets office to be sure.
