Cost of Epic is around $85 per person (probably higher). I always rent a car in Denver for around $300 and then I have the flexibility. Parking can be a pain, but I like the flexibility. What you give up in savings is offset by loss of flexibility. Public transport (of which I am a big fan of) is good in Avon, but to go to Vail or Breckenridge you have to plan your day around their transport times.
Snowbound Express for local private cars and Vans
Colorado Mountain Express is good for getting up the hill. Everything in Avon is free and frequent. If you want to go to Vail it costs a little, but less than parking.
Epic mix has a shuttle, as well as Colorado mountain express (and many more).
