We used to race down from Raleigh and try to beat the gate. Now we register online ahead of time and reserve our campsite. The official rule is that the gate closes at 10 PM, but we've never experienced the gate actually being locked.
10pm is when they shut the gate, you should try to be there before that unless you call and they okay you
The gate shuts at 10pm but isn't locked. Anytime after 1pm but before 10pm.
I'm guessing you can check in at any time. The host is constantly checking on everyone.
