The previous answer that said you can't is absolutely wrong. (1) You are able to get a DL on a tourist visa, (2) you should *NOT* get an international DL as they are not valid in NC, and (3) you actually *HAVE* to get a NC DL if you plan to stay in NC for over two months and drive while here. You will need: 1) Proof of identification. Your passport would be best. 2) I-94. You can print this at the DHS website. 3) Proof of insurance. Bring your documents. You will be required to pass the written test, vision test and driving test. Then you will be granted a DL for the duration of your stay in the country as indicated on your I-94 (most likely 6 months). You can obtain accurate information when you go to the right source. I recommend you not asking questions to people for they can often mislead you if they don't know what they are talking about, if their intentions are good. U can't get dl while on tourist visa if so u want it u have to get international dl from ur country first, if u dont have one u need to have a valid address proff on ur name and a non drivers insurence and then u can apply one
