Parking downtown is very limited on the street. There are meters around the area but its take much luck to get one. There are parking garages within a couple of blocks that normally have spaces. Be prepared to walk when visiting downtown Savannah.
Street parking available free after 5 deck parking is free for first hr. I think so its your call but there is no free onsite parking really anywhere downtown savannah.
We took an uber from our hotel. Very convenient and didn't have to worry about drinking and driving.
Parking places everywhere and garages. I wouldn't miss the visit to Savannah knowing what i know now.. awesome place

Best way is to use parking garage and then walk
Totally worth the walk. Don't let that sway your decision of going. Savannah is a beautiful city..... Hit and sticky in the summer however.
