I recommend talking to museum staff, they seem helpful. Some members did join the Shakers after marriage, even after having children according to the docents who gave tours. They did not live as if they were married, as I understand.

I believe they have a record book in one of the buildings,they have tour guides one of them could show you

They have records for many of the people that were part of the community on site, as part of the museum.
