My opinion to your question is this. Jesus was Jewish, He did observed most of the Jewish traditions, and broke away from many. Judaism which is the center of the Jewish faith, does not guarantee a closer relationship with God the father. This Jewish faith is very hinged on one's ability to observe the law. Jesus became the end of the law, as the law by itself cannot and will not save a soul.
