Ray Croc used psychology in his marketing and his business model. The taste of a coke being uniquely McDonald's is one of his best examples and successes.
McDonald's is the only customer of Coca Cola that they have slightly altered the formula. And also the only customer that gets the syrup in vacuum sealed stainless steel containers.
