i want to buy a fuel tank that is for in the deck of a boat, i want to get the same measurements on the new tank , any ideas, plastic seems the way to go

Stay away from plastic. Here in Florida the swell in the heat and collapse when cool. That makes the seal for the sending unit fail. If marine surplus doesnt have a tank for you. Call Tony at sunrise tanks in venice. He does great work

I own 2 separate boats with plastic tanks, they are under my deck on a flats boat. I also installed 2 plastic 100 gallon tanks in my mainship trawler.. i personally like the plastic over metal.. i strap them down so they don't move, also i use a sealant called ultra black from permatex on my sending units, never had a leak on gas or diesel.. plastic is a great long lasting tank......
