I plan to run new line on my Penn heavy duty reel, what type and test do you recommend for use on your boat.

I've been fishing saltwater for 36 years. For that application I would use 40lb. Same leader.

60 pound test is fine with 80 pound for leader but boat does supply rods i would check with them

That should be fine, but they provide the gear I would check with the office about using your own.
