AMAZING! Our experience was related to a kayaking tour (2 hours) launched from the Mound House through Estero Bay. We were guided by Yvette and Marina through the mangroves seeing beautiful wildlife that Yvette explained expertly. The House is also a TREMENDOUS exhibit; a must see for everyone!

Brought my 6 year old and 8 year old Kayaking at Mound house. It was alot of fun but not quiet what I expected. The kayaking is in the canal along side the mangroves. You don't actually kayak through the mangroves. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about local birds, animals and sealife. He shared many interesting facts. We did see a few dolphins at one point and different birds.

I don't think so I'm pretty sure they have a little gate there At the front of the entrance
On leashes only North of Wyndham and not at all south of the Wyndham hotel
This is a historic museum in fort Myers Beach Florida. You can take a tour of the house. They also have a tour of the underground. They also have kayak tours. This is a large mound of sea shells that was deposited by early Indians. Very interesting place.
Please call the Mound House directly and we can discuss what we can do together. (239) 765-0865 Thank you
Hello Jeannette, The grounds are open from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. Our pedestrian gates are located to the right of the vehicle gates near our parking lot, and at the end of Connecticut street. The vehicle gates close at 4:30pm, and the pedestrian gates close at posted sunset times.
Hello Jeannette, We are sorry that you were unable to walk the grounds. The grounds are only open from sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. We hope that you will be able to come back and visit us soon!
Yes, all the trails can be walked without guidance. You can read the informational placards along the trails. It is a beautiful and relaxing journey.
