Prospective volunteers must be 14 years of age or older in order to be eligible to apply. However, once they are old enough, there are a number of opportunities for them to get volunteer hours! That is correct, Suzanne. The minimum age for volunteers with the county is 14. Service hours can also be earned by participating in a 4-H club. Did you know Marion County has more than 25 active 4-H clubs? Contact the Marion County Extension Service at 352-671-8400 to be transferred to the 4-H of Marion County main office.
