Prospective volunteers must be 14 years of age or older in order to be eligible to apply. However, once they are old enough, there are a number of opportunities for them to get volunteer hours! There is a volunteer application that must be filled out. It is available at the libraries or can be printed from the website at https://www.marioncountyfl.org/departments-agencies/departments-o-z/public-library-system/library-info/volunteering

That is correct, Suzanne. The minimum age for volunteers with the county is 14. Service hours can also be earned by participating in a 4-H club. Did you know Marion County has more than 25 active 4-H clubs? Contact the Marion County Extension Service at 352-671-8400 to be transferred to the 4-H of Marion County main office.
