Juan Ponce the Leon was brought to St Augustine by the Tainos they took as slave from the Caribbean. They took him to “Bimini” now Florida. A Trading post for them. In Taino language bi means life or beginning, Mini - fountain of spring water. Bimini - fountain of beginning of life.
It’s perfect for a field trip. I’ve taken my fourth grade for the past few years. They get so much information about Spanish Fl, the Fl natives and some about British Fl. We used to go to another attraction and it was fun, but this is just as fun and covers far more Fl history content.

Oh yeah my daughter is 12 now, she went there for a field trip when she was in 4th grade she loved it, and we just been there about 4 weeks ago, lots of history about the Spanish people
