I have 4 tattoos and counting all from this shop. When you go there they will give you a little info paper on the things they suggest to aid in the healing process. These are the things i did, use an ointment such as A&D ointment or aquaphor, dont let it get wet for atleast the first 12hrs i believe it was, and to clean it with antibacterial soap until it heals. And do not let it get direct sunlight for the first week so the color doesnt fade, and dont scratch it, that will break the skin open even more and youll risk the ink coming out of your skin. But the healing process is different for each person. It also depends on how deep the artist gets the ink into your skin. I suggest jorge, or jessika they are amazing artists
They'll give you any instructions on aftercare which are also available on their website. I cleaned my tattoo with antibacterial soap and water after about an hour or two I believe, but my blood sugar completely dropped while cleaning so if possible try to have something with sugar on hand that you can eat or drink really quick. Avoid sunlight for a while and when it peels and itches, do not peel or scratch it. I would recommend putting an ointment like Aquaphor on it for as long as you can. I've had my tattoo for probably three years now and I still put ointment and lotion on it so I can prolong getting it touched up and make it last as long as possible. Like CourtOCourt said though, everyone is different and heals differently. Good luck!
The tattoo artists at Trinity now use a special kind of plastic on your tattoo when they finish. You keep it on for at least 4 days. It's amazing for the healing process. On top of that, I agree with both of the other people's answers.
