Wear a jacket and slacks and you will be fine...no tie required. Jeans and tennis shoes are never acceptable in the evening.
It depends on the occasion and how it is organized. If there's no dress code specified on the invitation, it's good manners to ask the host or the person who is taking you as a "plus one". You'd just say "Thank you for inviting me. What's the dress code?" Usually there is contact information on the invitation, but read carefully whether a dress code is mentioned before bothering anybody. You can also ask Citrus Club employees, just by calling the phone number. If you don't know what is meant by "black tie", for example, you can Google the term and you will find lots of great advice. When in doubt, overdress a bit, that shows respect and appreciation to the host.
A jacket for gentlemen is typically appropriate at dinner. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts or athletic shoes are never appropriate.
