Hello, I just purchased the Solar Controller/Battery Charger # Zs-30amp/Zs-40A. In your video showing installation, the guy says to install a 30 Amp Circuit breaker. Yet in your instructions you say to install a 40 Amp fuse. What is correct?

Hey Ron, Very sorry for the confusion. Use a 40-amp fuse. Here's why. Our charge controllers can be over paneled. Meaning it can handle more solar power than its rating. Solar panels get more efficient when it's cool or cold and the sun is shining strong. In test environments we assume the panels will be at 70°F. We manufacture our panels here in Bend, OR and are alway improving the efficiency. Solar cells have gotten more powerful and we use the best we can find. At the time the video was produced a 30-amp fuse would suffice. But with increasing cell efficiency we suggest to use a 40-amp fuse. Let us know if you need anything else, and thanks for supporting Zamp Solar! -Jeff
