Zamp is the BEST! My wife and I had a panel stolen off of our RV, and I stopped by Zamp Solar to see if I could pick up a replacement. Not only did I find out that our panels were discontinued, but also that Zamp wasn’t a retail location. Thankfully, I met the most helpful, wonderful customer service rep named Kaleb. I explained the situation, and he was shocked and appalled that anyone could do such a thing. So nice to have someone immediately on your side! He proceeded to sell me a panel and mounting/wiring hardware (which was abnormal, but so helpful) as well as warrantied our other solar panel because it was starting to fail! I can’t speak highly enough of Zamp Solar and Kaleb specifically!! Thanks!

Hey Leigh, We sure do. We have a portable solar extention cord that is 15 feet long. Part number - ZS-HE-15ft-N. Our portable solar systems come with a 16 foot cord that has battery clamps attached to it. These battery clamps are on about a 1 foot cord and they detach leaving the wire from the portable at about 15 feet. We supply a portable extension cord that is 15 feet in length. The wire size is increased to reduce any efficency loss due to the length of the wire. Hope this helps, Jeff
Mark, There are a few things to consider. Are the lights 12v or 120v? How big of a battery will you have to power the lights? Solar panels will charge the battery. You will run the lights off of the battery. If you are using 12v the efficiency will be very high. If you are using standard household 120v lights the use of an inverter will be nessesary and the efficiency will decrease. With all of this said you can get away with using solar panels as small as 60 watts but having around 100 watts or more will make sure that battery is always charged to its capacity and ready to go. Feel free to call with anymore questions you may have. Thanks, The Zamp Team
Hey Ron, Very sorry for the confusion. Use a 40-amp fuse. Here's why. Our charge controllers can be over paneled. Meaning it can handle more solar power than its rating. Solar panels get more efficient when it's cool or cold and the sun is shining strong. In test environments we assume the panels will be at 70°F. We manufacture our panels here in Bend, OR and are alway improving the efficiency. Solar cells have gotten more powerful and we use the best we can find. At the time the video was produced a 30-amp fuse would suffice. But with increasing cell efficiency we suggest to use a 40-amp fuse. Let us know if you need anything else, and thanks for supporting Zamp Solar! -Jeff
A Zamp system can take care of a battery or battery bank. The proper sized solar system depends on how large the battery bank is. Also, if I'm reading this right, you should install two new batteries to your battery bank, not just one. If you need further recommendations on the size of solar for the size of the battery bank give us a call.
No. We specialize in off grid smaller wattage systems commonly found on RV's, vans and boats.
