The less crowded beaches between Beals Point and Granite Bay are usually the best to throw a line out on the water, as less people means less noise and less disturbance for any small fish that are present in Folsom Lake. Some people go on their boats and fish from the middle of the lake but less crowded shorelines are the next best spots. Other good places include Michigan Bar further down the American River.
Ansel Houghman. Great fishing spot. Folsom lake and beals point are camp grounds and more overnight fun. And you dont need a boat for Ansel Houghman, and theres no crowd and much cheaper. If u plan on going a few days Beals point would be your best option 33 dollars a night 50c showers for 4-5 minutes. There are park rangers, be sure to pick up your temporary fishing lixense for 12 bucks (for the day) if you dont have one. Better to be safe then sorry.
Rattlesnake Bar up where the North American River meets Folsom Lake I find is best. Less people more fish....
I find it best at Rattlesnake or Salmon Falls. It is better in a boat but those would be good spots for some shore fishing with the family.
A small boat or raft is best! HaPpY FiSHiN DaD! 🎣🐟
