If you have a valid driver's license from that state, you do not have to take an exam. But, you will need to bring your driver's license, birth certificate, social security card, and two proofs of your Kansas address. If you were not born in the U.S., you'll also need to bring an Employment Authorization Card, a Permanent Resident Card, or other valid immigration documents to prove your legal status.
