Hello im a 12th grader at Quantum high and I'm intrested in becoming a police offtcer but im. Not sure where tge acedemy is any information you can give?

Most police departments nowadays prefer their applicants to have some college experience. West Palm Beach Police requires you to be 21 years of age. Most agencies require to put yourself through the academy (the closest one is at Palm Beach State in Lake Worth) but West Palm Beach does have some programs for sponsorship through their intern and cadet programs.

Congrats on knowing you want to be a police officer. This county definitely needs to clean house with so many rude, disrespectful and plain nasty officers. My son wanted to be an officer also till we had a bad run in with an officer last night. Now unfortunately he is afraid of them. My only suggestion is to actually visit the department you'd like to work at, ask a ton of questions and try to do a couple ride alongs with different officers so you get a feel for how the department is as a whole and not just one officer whose main goal is recruitment.
