I've never seen one there, but it doesn't mean they aren't there. There's always a chance. Look before you step.
Justin my family and I are traveling from another state. We have poisonous snakes where we live and I know how to deal with a snake. Again I am traveling with 4 children and my more serious question was in the event of a snake bite at "worse case scenario" what issue could we potentially be running Into because a ferry is your transportation. Poisonous snake bites can be deadly if not treated in a timely matter is all.
Mostly on the mainland. Ive never seen any.
Copperhead are bad, I saw a baby one downtown Swanboro and is a very crowded place, if I were you I will be aware, wear boots and don't walk in wooded areas
Snakes will avoid you as much as they can. Snakes are in all the states, not just NC
No never been coming since 1971
We didn't see any when we were there in the fall. A ranger can answer any questions you have about snakes. Mosquitoes are terrible in the summer. In case of emergency a ranger can get an emergency boat out to you on the island.
Of course there are snakes there. But it is a state park and you stay inside the boundaries of the park. Copperheads and moccasins for sure. But at Hammocks you are not allowed to roam around in the woods. That is where the snakes are. As long as they (children) are supervised you have nothing to worry about at all.
I haven't seen any.
I have never seen one. Just go and enjoy the beautiful beach!!!!
I get so excited seeing water, snakes and critters never crossed my mind.
We have a few varieties of poisonous snakes in North Carolina. Just stay out of their habitat. Don't lift up random logs or something you think looks like a black stick floating in the water. Hammock's Beach island is too far for them to swim generally speaking.
Hypothetically, yes, there are snakes and venomous snakes on the island. However I have not seen any venomous snakes at the camp. It would be best to call one of the camp rangers for specifics.
Ive been going to Hammocks Beach and taken the ferry over to Bear Island and have never seen any live snakes, just in their conservation museum
I havent seen any personally and gave went there my whole life.. there are native poisonous snakes in the area so o wouldnt be to suprolised if you seen one....i wouldnt be too suprised if you freaked out and got bittwn either with this kind of question.
