There are plenty of artifacts organized by the theater of war. It basically takes you through the events that culminated in the dropping off bombs. It is very detailed and thorough.
There is just far too much to this incredible facility for me to attempt a brief description. Refer to the Museum's site info for a better overview. https://www.nationalww2museum.org/ Suffice it to say, this is one of the very finest history museums ANYWHERE! And it is getting better all the time with new exhibitions & extraordinary programming of various kinds! If you have the chance to go, do not miss the opportunity.
Its not so much donations from veterans but larger pieces and well organised displays of the equipment used - as well as stories and explanations of how the events all unfolded.
I think the donations are made by both veterans and those affiliated with the museum very much interested in the preservation of audible and visual reminders of this far reaching conflict.
