Some of them don't require it. Some do. You can ask one of the people who sales it and they can help you with that. If they don't know for sure on the one you want they will call someone who does the install and ask them if it is required.
There are different thicknesses of linoleum. Some more cushiony then others. Thicker is more expensive. Not sure about padding
I would say you buy it separately . You can call to find out .
