We always used a lean solution of vinegar and water. But lately, the Bona brand cleaner and polish works really well. Any standing liquid kills hardwood or laminate (Pergo) flooring.
My mom use to clean hers with Ammonia and water then put a fresh coat of mop & glow on it.... it looked like new every time. The floor is original since 1944 I still use the same method today.
Follow the instructions of the supplier when cleaning a wall. A dampened mop may usually be used to maintain a wood floor; however, excessive moisture can cause damage. Standing water can soften the finish, damage the wood and leave a trace of discolouration. When water spills over a wood floor, scrub it with a clean cloth immediately.
