My license expires in Jan. 2023. I want to fly oversees in January 21 and understand you need the new ID/License to fly and have until Oct. 20 to get it.
Do I need to make an appointment before then to renew my license?

I believe as long as your license is active you don't need an appointment. But call and ask. They will let you know.
