I pay hundreds of dollars per year in excise tax, sales tax, license renewal, registration renewal, stickers on my car, ECT ECT. So why is it that when I call I can't get a representative on the phone to ask a simple question?

Don't forget gasoline taxes of 26 cents a gallon and all those late fees, reinstatement fees and penalties that they hit you up for if you've forgotten to pay to something. Or excise taxes on a plate you've kept even if the car was sold or not on the road a while, and just try to get an abatement even if you've proven the plate was returned...easier to get a root canal.
