Can venison be donated during hunting season?or if one gets hit by a car so the meat doesn't go to waste?

I dont know the answer but when I was younger a fresh kill deer used to be donated to nursing homes. I know Johnny #5 seems offended but venison is a good source of meat. No GMOs, no antibiotic or hormones. You should check with the health department.
