Its changed since I started flying through the year's. Alaska is known as oil rich State. So the airport is named after the Senator Ted Stevens Airport. A few Alaskans travel pretty much everywhere.

Extended Stay Midtown is only about 15 minutes from Airport
Anchorages is small... 300k live there. But since I love there i rarely needed a hotel. Google hotels and all post their room rates per day on it.
