RT Brook, I recently had a colonoscopy done at the Lk Nona VA and you do need someone with you that needs to stay there at the facility before and after the procedure. They are allowed to use the cafeteria but not leave the facility. And this much I can tell you that my procedure was quick and painless, during and after. Actually after my procedure my wife and I went and had lunch at a sit down restaurant before heading home, that's how smooth it went. Unlike the other VA clinics I experienced pain and discomfort after the colonoscopy. Lk. Nona VA is truly a gem. So you will definitely be in good hands veteran. I hope you have positive results. God bless. 🇺🇸

Unless you have someone with you who is required to sign a document as proof that is with you they will not register you in, nor perform the exam And yes, you will need someone to drive you home.

When having a colonoscopy anywhere, someone always has to accompany you, because you will be coming out of the anesthesia.
